SHED TO FIND SELF is a simple design that encapsulates the journey I have been on the past few years; this act of acknowledging, accepting, and shedding.
the act of self-liberation - self-love - self-acceptance - self-respect
"Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again."
- BUDDHA
Everything has to be shed to make room for the new. Even the sky.
Taking off the mask that protected you for so long can be scary, but it's a necessity. We all outgrow that skin. We must learn to adapt and grow for our betterment. We must learn to be soft and strong.
I drew most of my inspiration from snakes for this design. The last two years for me have felt like the snakes' act of shedding; finding resolve with my past and becoming both grateful for and comfortable with vulnerability. The act of shedding their skin is a MUST. So is the practice of vulnerability. Soft and strong.
"You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that's so real it scares you."
- Bob Marley
